Day 2 - Driving with Spencer

Today, Spencer and I went to town to do some errands.

All was fine; we laughed, shopped and simply had a good time.

We were just about home and uh-huh, you guessed it he yelled at me.

This time the words were, “Oh my, Mom, there is this huge bug crawling above your head!!”

Ack!!

My mind begins to race as to what it could be.

A spider?

Oh, I really hate spiders.

A bee, some sort of odd bug?!

Ick, what is it?

My heart begins to race because I do not know what it is and he looks totally panicked.

He backed his body up to the window, so I knew he was not fooling around.

I began to look all around me and swerving a bit from side to side.

Then I finally saw what he noticed.

A Japanese Beetle.

We really do not have too many beetles here. This was the fist one I have seen in a long, long time.

I looked over at him, smiled and said, “It is beetle, a Japanese Beetle and can you please quit scaring me to pieces while driving.”

He smiled, looked at me and said, “ I think we should just stay home for the rest of the day, I'm worn out.”

I don’t think I had heard a better idea all day.
