Buttermilk Crock Pot Chicken - Recipe

I wanted something super yummy for dinner tonight.

Something that would warm and fill us up.

Off I went through my recipe book and found a recipe that I had tried before with pretty good feedback.

Checked the cupboard for a packet of Italian salad dressing and the only thing I found was a packet of buttermilk salad dressing mix. Turns out that I was also out of Cream of Chicken soup so that recipe was shot down.


The wheels were churning, could I sub in some ingredients and come up with a good dinner?

Feeling a bit daring I opted to give it a try and I have to say it was a delicious meal.

The boys ate in silence, they enjoyed it that much!

Just pop all the ingredients in, go about your day and enjoy a really tasty dinner waiting for you.

Buttermilk Crock Pot Chicken

4 chicken breast, no skin, no bone,
1 package Neufchatel cheese
1/2 package Buttermilk salad dressing mix
3/4 cup water
1 can mushroom pieces -- drained
1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup 98% FF
1/2 cup peas, frozen

  1. Place chicken in slow cooker, add in the remaining ingredients in order.
  2. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
  3. Mix from time to time as it cooks.
  4. Serve up and enjoy!

  • Serve over rice or even noodles.
  • Side salad.

  • You can add more or less of the buttermilk mix - adjust to your taste.
  • I added a few cranks of fresh black pepper.
  • Can add more or take out the peas.
