Ranch Ham 'n' Cheese Pasta - Recipe


Another new recipe that was tried this week with great success.
Cheese, ham and pasta..yummy!
Kiddos had seconds and best of all it is quite low in calories all things considered.
You will be quite pleased with the end results.

Ranch Ham 'n' Cheese Pasta

16 ounces penne pasta
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 cup skim milk
2 teaspoons parsley flakes -- dried
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt free lemon pepper seasoning
1/2 teaspoon minced onion -- dried
1/2 teaspoon dill weed
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
8 ounces sour cream, light
2 cups ham slices, canned -- cooked and cubed
6 ounces Mexican cheese blend -- reduced fat
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese -- shredded

  • Cook pasta according to package directions; drain.
  • In a dutch oven, melt butter; whisk in flour until smooth.
  • Gradually add milk and seasonings. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
  • Reduce heat; fold in sour cream until blended.
  • Add ham and pasta; cook and stir until heated through.
  • Remove from the heat; stir in Mexican cheese blend until melted.
  • Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

I used garlic powder instead of garlic salt as was stated in the original recipe.
